let me tell you, brunch at Chic Nona was a 5-star experience from start to finish! As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and personal attention. The staff made us feel like we were part of their Italian family, the amazing singer and musician belting out classic tunes created a lively and fun atmosphere that instantly put me in the mood for a memorable brunching experience.
Talking about food: it was authentic Italian food at its finest. Each dish was rich with flavor and made us feel like we were sitting in a cozy street of Via Margutta or Via Delle Carrozze in the heart of Rome. From the first dish to the last (Unfortunately, I was not able to try the main dish and desserts, because the quantity of appetizers and main dishes was enough to keep you full for two days), we were transported to the cobbled streets, surrounded by the aroma of fresh herbs and spices.
The friendly staff (Maxime, Clara, Bouchra and Rasul) guided us through their extensive menu, offering recommendations and ensuring we had the best brunch experience possible. Their hospitality knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine were evident in every dish. (Clara and Bouchra did the job perfectly)
I must mention a few remarkable dishes. Pizzetta al Tartufo ,pizza with black truffle was a delightful surprise, the earthy and woody flavor of black truffle balanced perfectly with the savory elements of the pizza, The crust was thin and crispy, while the Polipetti alla Luciana , baby octopus with tomatoes sauce and capers, Parmigiana or Baked eggplant with mozzarella and basil, Caprese Mozzarella , Organically tomato, mozzarella, basil, extra virgin olive oil, Polpette Tomato sauce, small tasty beef meatballs, cooked with parmesan and tomatoes sauce. and Frittura di Calamari, golden crust and tender baby calamari baby calamari that’s not grease-heavy or rubbery, served with bergamot mayonnaise.
After this -ceremony- of appetizers, who would be able to eat more, but Clara surprised us with another dishes. Lasagna Tradizionale, or traditional lasagna, with authentic Bolognese sauce and parmesan, the thin layer of fresh homemade lasagna balanced perfectly with the other ingredients, and
Orecchiette Cime di Rapa, another mouthwatering homemade pasta dish,
cooked to perfection, al dente and full of flavor. Garlic sauce and extra virgin oil and herbs, the flavor was strong and tasty, complementing the hearty orecchiette perfectly.
Now, let’s talk about the main course star of the show Scaloppine ai Funghi or Veal sirloin with mushroom sauce, and the grilled salmon filet with broccoli and lemon dressing. My companion chose the organic veal sirloin while I was unable to try the sea salmon fillet, as the generous portions of food made it impossible to add more food.
Chic Nonna, truly exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail, the warmth of the staff, and the delicious dishes made this a brunch experience I won’t soon forget.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The cuisine at Chic Nonna DIFC/ Dubai is nothing short of outstanding. Each dish I tried showcased the Chef Francesco Torcasio and his team dedication to authentic Italian flavors and high-quality ingredients. From the pizza appetizer to the homemade pasta dishes, every bite was a delightful explosion of flavors that left let me travel on an imaginary journey to Italy.
In addition to the amazing food and service, Chic Nonna also boasts beautiful outdoor seating. The patio area provides a lovely atmosphere to enjoy your meal; It’s the perfect spot to soak up the pleasant sunny and warm weather of Dubai while indulging in delicious Italian cuisine.
