Abu Dhabi, UAE – May 22, 2025: The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced the launch of the highly anticipated Mawhibaty Students Showcase Exhibition, an exhibition of creative visual artworks by more than 240 art students enrolled in the Mawhibaty talent development programme. The exhibition will take place at Manarat Al Saadiyat, running daily from 22 May until 30 June 2025 from 10:00am to 8:00pm.
The Mawhibaty Students Showcase is a pioneering programme that nurtures the creativity of students enrolled in public, private, and charter schools across Abu Dhabi. This year’s exhibition will feature a wide selection of more than 500 works of art across diverse mediums, skills, and media, ranging from painting, drawing, and photography to calligraphy and graphic design.
Now in its eighth edition, the public exhibition provides students with a significant platform to showcase their creative work. This opportunity encourages artistic expression, fostering growth and enabling them to elevate their skills to new heights.
The initiative further aligns with DCT Abu Dhabi’s wider mission to invest in youth and nurture creative talent as part of its ongoing efforts to position the emirate as a leading centre for culture, innovation, and artistic excellence.
Alongside the annual Students Showcase, the Mawhibaty programmehas provided students with opportunities to present their artworks in various regional and international exhibitions throughout the past few years. These platforms include the Middle East Film and Comic Con, Expo 2020, and the Jewels Festival in New York. This exposure celebrates participants’ talent on a global scale and expands their artistic experiences.
Last year, the seventh edition of the Mawhibaty Students Showcase featured the talents of nearly 600 students, with 214 participating in the visual arts segment and 360 in performing arts. Attendees experienced a variety of performances, including music, drama, and traditional arts, reflecting the programme’s commitment to fostering the next generation of artists in the UAE.
Since its inception in 2017, the Mawhibaty programme has played a pivotal role in after-school activities, dedicated to discovering and nurturing emerging artistic talents across the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The programme is designed to equip students with the essential tools to ignite their creativity, elevate their artistic innovation, and inspire them to pursue their creative passions. In addition, Mawhibaty fosters a deeper understanding of and sense of pride in national and cultural identity, by showcasing the UAE’s rich artistic traditions through the power of art and performance.
Throughout the year-round programme, students immerse themselves in training sessions led by skilled art professionals at DCT Abu Dhabi’s cultural centres, exploring their creative potential and refining their artistic abilities. Venues include Marsam Al Hor and the Children’s Art Centre at the Cultural Foundation, the Art Studio at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Bait Al Oud, and Al Qattara Arts Centre.
The exhibition will be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat daily from May 22 to June 30, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
