Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 19, 2025: Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences and Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) have announced the launch of the new cycle of Hamdan – ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research 2025. The award aims to support and encourage Arab educational researchers in producing high-quality research that contributes to the development of the education sector and enhances the quality of education in line with the highest international standards.
Dr. Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Foundation, emphasized that the new cycle builds on a growing foundation of interest and enthusiasm among researchers and educational institutions. He noted that the successful collaboration between ALECSO and the Foundation has reinforced the importance of educational research in advancing education. “The Arab education sector is rich with outstanding research expertise, and this award seeks to discover, support, and empower these talents. By doing so, we aim to provide decision-makers with valuable insights and contribute to building knowledge-based societies capable of global competitiveness. We are committed to ensuring that this award serves as a catalyst for enriching the Arab educational research landscape with studies that have a lasting impact on the field,” he stated.

Dr. Al Suwaidi further highlighted the crucial role of educational research as the foundation for improving education quality, offering scientifically grounded solutions to address challenges in educational systems. “Through Hamdan – ALECSO Award for Distinguished Educational Research, we strive to motivate Arab researchers to produce studies characterized by innovation and academic excellence. These studies will support the development of educational policies and enhance institutions’ ability to adopt best global practices,” he added.
The award is open to Arab researchers working in the education sector, including teachers, educational supervisors, faculty members, psychologists, and educational specialists. Submitted research must be original, methodologically rigorous, and address key educational issues with tangible impact on the field. The research must also adhere to established academic standards and provide solutions and recommendations that contribute to improving education quality and advancing teaching practices.
The award grants USD 25,000 for each winning research. In the case of collaborative research, the prize will be distributed according to the contributors’ respective roles. Winners will be honored at an official ceremony, and the winning research will be published in peer-reviewed academic journals to facilitate knowledge dissemination and promote best research practices.
As part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of submissions and ensuring adherence to top research standards, Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences will host an introductory workshop in April 2025. The workshop will provide educational researchers with detailed guidelines on evaluation criteria and submission requirements, enabling them to prepare high-quality research that aligns with the award’s objectives and contributes to the advancement of the education sector in the Arab world.
Submissions are to be made electronically through the official platform of the Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, where researchers can upload their studies and complete the application requirements.
