8 November, JEDDAH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will play host to the legendary Red Bull Car Park Drift with the World Final of the series locked in for the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on 8 December 2022.

In just one month, 21 drifters from 18 different countries will face off across one night of high-octane action in the hope of being named the Red Bull Car Park Drift King of Drift for 2022. Tickets go on sale in the coming week.

Grandstands packed with raucous crowds will cheer on their skilled racers in the unique atmosphere known for its spectacular scenes shaped by the fast pace, burning rubber, powerful engines, and pinpoint-accurate driving.

In addition, off-track activations will bring a festive feel to the city with special entertainment lined up for attendees; the event is brought to Saudi Arabia in partnership with Saudi Motorsport Company, Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Red Bull Mobile, Nissan, Kwai, Dunlop, Saudi Sport Channel and Arab GT.

Built by a qualifying series of events which started in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the 2022 season of Red Bull Car Park Drift has visited a total of 17 countries to find the best car park drifters to represent their nations at the World Final in Jeddah next month. From Jamaica to Mauritius, Sri Lanka to Pakistan, Kenya to South Africa, the series has travelled through Poland, Estonia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, not to mention Qatar, Oman, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and of course, Saudi Arabia. The talent on show will make this year’s entry list the biggest in the history of the competition.

The return of such a major event to the Kingdom comes at a time when drifting accelerates in popularity around the globe, and more people than ever start following the sport, many after attending one of the unique events.

A key part to the global success of the Red Bull Car Park Drift has been the leadership of motorsport Champion and Guinness World Record Holder for the longest drift, Abdo Feghali. The Red Bull athlete will be the lead drifter for the Jeddah event giving guidance to the competitors and greeting fans.

Speaking ahead of the world final, Abdo Feghali said he’s counting down the seconds until he gets to lay down some marks on the Jeddah asphalt:

“It’s a dream for me to be back drifting in Saudi Arabia and we can’t wait to get going. We know that Saudi is the biggest country in the region for drifting and we know that the sport is only going to grow. With so much talent in the Kingdom we are looking forward to seeing some great action and giving these drifters a place to show their skills in a purpose-built arena.

We hope to give drifters who are currently amateurs the chance to become champions, world champions. It’s inspiring and it’s all coming soon.”

With the world’s top drifters in action, the competition is expected to be fierce. From the entry list, regional stars such as Ahmad Daham (UAE), Haitham Al Hadidi (Oman) and Anas el Helou (Jordan) will have their sights set on victory, as will last year’s World Final winner, Ahmad Al Amri (Qatar). They will face stiff competition from overseas however, with Poland’s Piotr Wiecek boasting a distinguished record which has seen him lift trophies in his native country as well as the US, Latvia, and Austria.

For Saudi motorsport fans, since Jeddah will be hosting the World Final, the event will welcome three competitors from the Kingdom. Those drivers will be confirmed at a qualifying event on 3 December.

The Red Bull Car Park Drift World Final is a ticketed event open to everyone; tickets go on sale in the next week. The event will start at 8pm on December 8th at the Paddock area of the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
