She added that the initiative aims to encourage digital purchases at the government level and reduce reliance on cash in government transactions. The aim is to provide a streamlined, flexible and efficient payment experience for the concerned authorities by reducing the time required to complete online transactions.

Al Shehhi also stressed that the credit card issued by Dubai Islamic Bank to government agencies in Ajman would be dedicated to covering government agencies’ expenses resulting from digital purchases required by their respective business needs. She also clarified the criteria and mechanism for issuing the credit cards.

She added: “The government credit card is granted explicitly to cover job-related expenses or for government purposes; it may not be used for personal payments.”
