  • UAE Internal Auditors Association organising three high-level training seminars

Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA), called upon the internal auditors in the UAE to be agents of change and catalysts for transformation, by applying the leading practices in internal audit, and working to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global centre for good governance.

There are multiple challenges faced by internal auditors in a constantly changing business environment, which requires them to continually upgrade their capabilities and knowledge to consolidate their position and contribute to the success of their organisations,” he said.

Abdulqader called on UAE Nationals to join the internal audit profession, which plays an important role in enhancing the business environment and the success of organisations. He stressed that for this purpose, the UAE IAA has launched the Hasaad programmme which includes intensive training programmes to produce professional internal auditors, and is organising international conferences and training workshops throughout the year with the participation of international experts, with the aim of providing a platform for knowledge-sharing, learning about the challenges and future of the profession and enhancing the skills and capabilities of internal auditors.

Abdulqader’s statements came in conjunction with the association organising three specialized, high-level training courses in cooperation with the Audit Trail Academy under the titles: ‘Auditing at the Speed of Risk,’ ‘Becoming an Agent of Change,’ and Becoming an Internal Audit Trusted Advisor,’ during this month.

The training seminars will be conducted by the highly acclaimed internal audit expert Richard Chambers, global internal audit advocate and former President and CEO of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Global), the world body of internal auditors, headquartered in the US.UAE Nationals Called upon to Utilise Increase in Demand for Internal Auditors

‘Auditing at the Speed of Risk’ seminar will challenge participants to adapt a client service mindset as internal auditors, and to transform their processes and methodologies to audit at the speed of 21st century risks. Participants will explore concepts for continuous risk assessment, identifying and monitoring emerging risks, and planning, conducting and reporting internal audit engagements at the speed of risk.

Abdulqader said, “Continuous learning and capacity development is very important to our profession, so we were keen to provide the leading practices in the field of internal audit under one roof to facilitate the process of knowledge-sharing and exchanging opinions and common experiences for the benefit of the profession.

The seminar titled ‘Becoming an Internal Audit Trusted Advisor’ will explore the nine attributes of outstanding internal auditors and will identify effective strategies to develop and enhance those attributes.

Participants will be able to assess their own competencies and identify effective strategies to become valued agents of change in the organisations they serve.

The Audit Trail Academy will give certificates to those who complete the three sessions, in addition to certificates and 16 CPE credits from UAE IAA for each session.

UAE IAA, a non-profit organization, was set up in 1995 along the lines of its parent body, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA Global) which has 220,000 members from more than 190 countries and organizations.8gft=
